OnCommand Cloud Manager is the deployment environment for ONTAP Cloud software. This provides point-and-click installation and automatically selects and assigns resources to each instance. Cloud Manager uses cloud credentials to select the compute and storage necessary to run a user’s preferred instance for every deployment to the ONTAP Cloud. With visibility into the actual resources consumed by each instance, Cloud Manager monitors and cloud resource utilization to help companies to assess their environment and come up with strategies.

Volume view mode

Cloud Manager has a volume view mode that offers a simple interface for ONTAP managed cloud storage. This preference abstracts the storage infrastructure and allows users to select which volumes are required for an application. Cloud Manager then builds the appropriate infrastructure behind the volume to operate that was specified. Users are not required to know the extensive details of storage, but only the volumes their application requires.
